First of all I feel Robbie will be fine and I wish him the best. He along with his parents made a decision that they felt will help their son . For that reason I feel we need to respect that. Second, reading this stuff about PHS , is crazy , the program will of course miss Robbie as a person and player however they will move on and another "Robbie" will come about. The team will not fold up nor will it fall off because of the type of players or children that come through that program. I don't think anyone can remember when Phoebus had a bad season, but when they don't win the big dance, haters talk about how bad they are. Small minded people , its so much bigger than that. Its about working together as a team, its about working through issues or times to come out of the other end a winner, its about falling and getting up and getting back in the game. ( Damn, that sounds like life) Third, Its about getting an opportunity to go to school and receiving an education for life (degree). Yes, I know college isn't for everyone but here again life skills can come from playing this sport. Last, STOP, bashing the kids and coaches, these are kids and you have not clue of how much time and money the coaches put in to coaching our children. The last time I checked it comes out to about .25 , an hour. Not to mention the city of Hampton cut coaches pay 25%. What a head coach makes in Hampton is what a assistant coach makes in Newport News, and please don't talk about the South side. Hell, its a wonder we have coaches at all. But I understand , its because these men care about the success of YOUR child . The person who made the statement that Phoebus program was a circus, is just mad because he /she didnt get hired as a CLOWN.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY

HAVE A BLESSED DAYI agree with all the points you made however this is a blog about hampton roads high school football where opinions are made and debates are raised.posts shouldn't be taken personal and at the end of the day I think we appreciate the coaches the volunteer there time however we can all have a opinion rather good or bad about coaches, players or programs and if we all didn't like to debate have an opinion and or defend our said program (if you have one) we wouldn't come up here.I think Mike Smith need to sit his a$$ down asap however I do appreciate and respect the years he put in at hampton? I think Bill Dee needs to come back and take over the Phoebus program because imo Blount hasn't done a good job that doesn't mean I dislike Blount as a person and that's just imo.

How hasn't he done a good job? Because he hasn't won a state yet. But hasn't had a loosing record either. He has only been a head coach for 3 years now. But most importantly he trying to teach these boys how to become men. Something people don't see. If you knew anything about Blunt you wouldn't have made this comment. The kids love him and they feel like they can come to him for anything. It's not all about winning states all the time. When the seniors graduate they can look back and say Coach Blunt told me this and taught me that. You have no clue what that man goes throu. I'm sure it's more than any other head coach goes through.

And I'm almost positive about 90% of coaches in the district have the same effect on their players as well that comes with the territory in being a high school football head coach or even youth for that matter.but I'm talking about performance on the field I don't care if it's only been 3 years his been there u the quality of coaching at Phoebus has went down dramatically and if you can't see that you just being straight up bias and this is no hate

SAD !!!!!! Coach is young, and still learning. I remember when people said the same thing about coach Dee. I can also remember when Coach Dee was threaten, and called every name in the book because of his record in his early years. After years of taking BS from coat tail riders, and haters PHS won its first state title. (2001) And Bill became the smartest coach in the State. What I'm saying is Coach Blount is young and he gives a bunch being away from his family. Give him the same respect that you gave Bill, and I think you will be pleased of the results, it takes time and a sound staff.

Obviously you guys are big PHS supporters so I concede to whatever you guys say another point I do agree on is he definitely needs a sound staff however my opinion won't change.

What people also don't know is he didn't have a chance to hand pick his coaches. Some coaches applied and got pick buy administration. If you all only knew what is really going on these days at Phoebus it's not the same. But The man has a wining record point blank.

you are right and also you need to see what the facilities look like. I visited all of the schools and I saw something that was very disturbing to me. I saw the poor managers pushing water in water coolers out to the field in grocery baskets. The field is a mess, I visited the coaches office and wow, flat out bad.
The program and kids are being disrespected in the worst way. I hope the new principle recognize whats going on and make some changes. I think he will because it will reflect him.

Didn't Phoebus just get a new field turf put down last year? I find that field being a mess hard to believe.

What are you looking at Reid Evans - released from program Markel Wilkens - released from program Tyree Lee - released from program Caleb Taylor - released from program Richie Staton - released from program Actavius Mathews - released from program You could also throw in Breon Key as well I think that is what he is looking at!!!!
